Deanna Perry of Nisland, SD, doing business as Protective Coatings, has been banned from doing business in this state after violating the state’s transient merchant and consumer fraud laws, announced Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem today urged immediate compliance with Governor Burgum’s emergency evacuation order of protestors residing on federal land managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers in Morton County, for purposes of environmental cleanup to protect public health and prevent harm to the Missouri River.

In just the past month, several elderly North Dakotans have fallen victim to the “grandparent” scam, each losing thousands of dollars to scam artists who pretended to be a grandchild supposedly in a dire situation and in desperate need of money. Stenehjem urged all North Dakota residents to talk to elderly parents and relatives about these scams.

Jamestown High School Team #1 won the state LifeSmarts championship and will be representing North Dakota in the national competition. Kindred High School Team 2 and Jamestown High School Team 2 took second and third place, respectively.
