Cease and Desist Orders
If a contractor is doing work without the proper licenses or a business is violating consumer fraud laws, the Consumer Protection division takes action to protect North Dakota consumers. If an unscrupulous business continues to operate outside the law, the Attorney General issues a Cease & Desist Order, banning it from doing business in this state and, if necessary, will take the business to court and obtain a Judgment against it.
- If you have information that a business is violating a Cease & Desist Order, report it to ndag@nd.gov.
